Scanalyst 3

General Description

The SCANALYST Family of barcode Verification products has a 20 year history of helping companies around the world use barcode technology effectively, profitably and in compliance with their industry standards. SCANALYST 3 is the newest member of the family. It is a camera based barcode verification system. It is used to evaluate barcode print quality in accordance with current ANSI ISO and industry standards. Unlike many other verifiers, SCANALYST 3 being camera based is more flexible and able to be used portably and easily. This allows SCANALYST 3 to be used outside of the laboratory and closer to the printing processes where inspections are required. It also allows inspections to be performed on barcodes as they appear on finished products, i.e. wrapped around a bottle or on a box, under a clear wrap, etc. This is a more efficient and more accurate method of inspection.

Windows PC application – uses familiar Windows interface – Highly graphical interface includes live feed from sensor as well as inspection results – on board database can be used to store records and can be linked to corporate databases – lighting calibration, print, save, email, select region of interest, etc.

Data, Communication and Collaboration

SCANALYST 3 is designed for collaboration – the combination of detailed reports along with images makes it relatively easy to communicate and solve issues. The inspection images can be emailed to another user or to AIS for questions or support. A single click can email, print and save reports. The database can be customized to allow user defined data fields that are sortable. The database is .accdb type that is a common Windows type that can be opened in Access, Excel, Word and many other common office applications. In most industries keeping inspection records is required to comply with good manufacturing practices.

Warranty and Support

SCANALYST 3 comes with a full warranty for the first year. Warranty includes any software upgrades during that period. The warranty may be extended after the first year.

Compliance

SCANALYST 3 is designed and manufactured with respect to the prevailing AIDC industry standards. This includes ISO/IEC 15415, ISO/IEC 15416, ISO/IEC 15426-1 and ISO/IEC 15426. These standards cover the print quality aspect of ‘industry compliance’ and are part of the most widely used industry standards. The various industry standards such as GS1, AIAG, etc. contain additional parameters required for compliance. SCANALYST 3 inspects for and reports on many of the application specification parameters as well as the print quality specifications.
