What is a QR Barcode?
QR barcode or Quick Response Code is an easily identifiable two-dimensional (2D) barcode consisting of black squares arranged in a grid on a white background. They have embedded targets used as the finder pattern to identify the symbology.
QR codes, like any other barcode stores information on a machine-readable optical label. It can hold up to 7098 digits or 4296 characters, including punctuation marks and special characters.
Where are QR Codes used?
QR codes have many different uses. They were originally invented to track inventory on production lines and in warehouses. Now they are widely used in marketing and advertising – on packaging and promotional material. They are also commonly found on business cards and tickets.
